Murphy and Coggs said for the Police Dept. to consider expanding ShotSpotter in conjunction with grants. Ald. Murphy requested nuisance property information to be forwarded monthly to the respective alderpersons, the reason for increased police presence at Police Station District 3, using drones for pursuing reckless drivers (with legality considerations), response on recent proposed legislation on reckless driving, status update on the joint radio upgrade project, and information on the COPS agreement. Pres. Perez requested for further data information on and response to calls made on mobile drug dealing and, with concurrence from Ald. Stamper, for there to be more ways and commitment to creatively combat sex trafficking on the streets. Ald. Stamper requested for further comparative data points between citizen calls reporting gunshots and ShotSpotter.
